BRENTWOOD (The Hot Candy Report) Local software developer Tom Smith has found his perfect match – an AI-enhanced version of himself. After uploading his dating profile photos to an image generator, Smith became smitten with his digital twin.
“He’s exactly my type,” Smith told reporters while gazing at his AI portrait. “He loves tacos, hates slow walkers, and claims to be better at rock climbing than I am.”
The 32-year-old admitted he first created the AI profile to test new dating app features. But things took an unexpected turn when the AI started sending him witty messages. “The AI me has my sense of humor but actually remembers to use it,” Smith said.
Dating experts warn this could be a growing trend. “We’re seeing more singles falling for idealized AI versions of themselves,” said relationship coach Sarah Chen. “It’s like dating your clone, but with better lighting and no emotional baggage.”
Smith has already planned a virtual first date with his AI self. “We’re going to watch our favorite movie – my favorite movie – and finish each other’s sentences,” he said. “Finally, someone who truly understands my Star Wars references.”
When asked about the relationship’s future, Smith remained optimistic. “Sure, he’s not real, but neither are half the profiles on dating apps anyway.”
